was ebaying a bit and found this small stone:
http://cgi.ebay.it/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=190200888003&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=009

http://www.casexx.com/DisplayDetailPage.asp?ProductCode=902

It would be nice to sharpen knives in the field, would put it in my camping bag.
I also only have a Opinel like sharpening stone wich doesn't work well, would like to have a better one before getting a sharpmaker or a crock stick sharpener.
how's this one? can I use it DRY? or do I NEED oil?

thanks
Maxx

It will work for keeping a blade sharp, but it won't take off alot of metal. You can use it dry for a while, but eventually it will get clogged and won't cut very well. You can use water instead of oil, I actually much prefer water myself, they seem to cut a little faster with water and it isn't as messy. Depending on your location, you can find similar stones at most hardware/home improvement stores. It is just a pocket sized arkansas stone. I think Case has a hard and soft. The hard being a little finer in grit. I really like stones like this.
