If you had only the following amounts to buy an EDC knife for an LEO, what would it be?

$30-$40

$50-$60

$70-$80

$90-$100

30-$40 -opinel, something from crkt, a delica , a kershaw something.

$50-$60 -leek, endura, delica, native

$70-$80 - spydy military

$90-$100 -military/police

<$50- Spyderco Endura, Delica
<$70- Benchmade Griptilian,
<$90- Benchmade 705, TSEK, Spyderco Police,
around $100- Benchmade 806, 710, Spyderco Military, Microtech mini Socom Elite Auto,

Spyderco.

If I were to spend more than $100, I'd chose an Al Mar SERE 2000. (Yes, that's my latest favorite folder.:D.).

Don't forget the knife exchange here and on Knifeforums. You can get very good, even new $100+ knives for $50 almost any day of the week. That puts you in the Emerson, Benchmade, Spyderco, Cold Steel... range easily. So, you could have a LaGriffe or SPOT in your weak-side pocket so you don't have to manipulate any thumb opener, a CQC-7, 910 Stryker, or any solid Spydie clipped to your strong side pocket, and still have lunch money in your back pocket. Not bad!

$30-$40 - Delica, Various CRKT offerings

$50-$60 - Endura, Cold Steel Voyager

$70-$80 - BM Griptillian, several other BMs around this price

$90-$100 - Military, Police, Chinook, Starmate, SERE2K

If I were low on funds, I would go with the Endura because it has a lot of great features and is made well without costing a fortune. If you have $100.00, I would go with the Military. The other choices I listed in the $100.00 category are good too, but the Military is my favorite.
