There is a Umfaan up for sale in the 4 sale forum. It has Devin Thomas blade and some checkering on part of one scale. How is that checkering done? Laser cut?

i saw a small sebbie but no umfaan on the 4 sale forum....i would think the checkering was done like all of the other unique patterned sebs----"free hand" milling...a
"straight edge" might be use to help guide the machine but most uniques i understand are done free hand and are not programmed like the computer generated decorateds....feverdoc

The look of checkering was simply attained by the crossin of machined lines. The vast majority of the unique designs are done free-hand on a manual milling machine and the different patterns are achieved by tilting the head and using different machining techniques. It is a bit like painting or drawing but using a milling machine instead of brushes or pencils!

Lasers do not come into it anywhere!!
