I was curious which of Ed's designs you recommend for a try out?
..A. ROPPO SHAKEN - Koburi Ryu (6 point star)
..B. Togakure Ryu Senban (#5 like design)
..C. Koto Ryu Senban (4 point "thick" star)
..D. JUJI SHAKEN (4 point "thin" star)

Since I am leaning towards either the Koburi Ryu or the Koto Ryu Senban, I requested some additional information on the size the the stars since the website does not have that much detail.

Just for reference:
Koburi Ryu (A): roughyly 3 1/2 -4 1/2 inches from point to point
Koto Ryu Senban (C): roughly 4 1/2 to 5 inches from point to point
They are authentic in size weight and thickness

you guys should try the bo-shuriken (spikes) as well, those are a lot heavier and do a lot of damage when thrown non-rotation style =] (like getting hammered with a nine inch nail)

I like to make my own as they are much easier than knives to make.
The problem with the budoweapons stars is they are to authentic.
They are small which makes them not work as well and are excessivly complicated for the hobby thrower. A star can be an effective weapon if used properly. I spend most of my MBC time working on knife versus handgun scenarios and a star thrown at a guy with a gun can wound or distract him long enough to close the distance.
