How To Christy Knife Question

Just picked up a Christy knife at a local flea market for $1. I've read previously on this forum that the knife will lock in three positions - open, half, closed. Mine is currently in the closed position and everything seems to be present and in working order.

Excuse the dumb question, but how do you get it open? Even though the sliding mechanism appears to be free, it does not want to move.

I had one years ago. If I recall correctly, you need to push the button and then slide it open or closed.

Push the button in the direction of the little arrow stamped next to it, and push the blade forward. Sometimes the blades have been flipped over, for left hand use.

As Rich S stated, push down on the button as you slide the blade out.

Thanks for the quick answers! I was trying to push the button "in" instead of "sideways". Works like a charm!
