The Remington model 241 SPEEDMASTER was made between 1935 and 1949. A slick little rifle with a very-slim receiver, bottom eject, and....is a takedown configuration. Thus, it is a great camping/pack/survival piece....for the BOB, vehicle...
.22 long rifle (only), through-buttstock tube feed, 24" barrel
This specimen is in very nice overall condition. Blue is clean and clear, with no apparent flaws. Wood is very good, with typical dings and scratches. No cracks or very detracting blems at all. Clean bore, mechanically very sound. Just had a full and fussy cleaning.
Scope mount, with a 4X scope. *The only real flaw I can call is...one receiver screw with compromised slot edges, and...it is the one screw you will likely never need, or even want to, remove.
The locking mechanism is quality, well-designed/esecuted and, the lock-up is rock solid. Overall look and feel is the 'pre'-whatever...i.e. quality.
I had found that one had sold for about $600. on-line a year, or so, ago. A decent one will certainly bring close to $400., or more, now.
Photos are not great, as I took them hastily under an overcast sky today..... Wood is better than the photos suggest. Bluing is, again, very nice. Appears to be all-original and unadulterated.
Offered here/knife-related forums for a few days, prior to perhaps going up on online auction. My BIN there will be higher.
****SPF**** including shipping to the CONUS
