Cleaning Blades

WD40 or 3in1 Machine Oil will remove adhesives from knife blades. Spray the WD40 on a folded parer towel, rag, etc., and wipe the blade(Watch out for the edge, or you'll cut yourself!) until it's clean.

Try a little bit more elbow grease, I've found that Tuff-Cloth will remove the adhesive it just takes a little work. Also, precoat your blade with tuffcloth before using it to cut tape, etc. it'll clean up a little easier when your done.

Thanks for all the input.

I tried a nail varnish remover pad at the weekend and althoughit took ages, (I dont think their is very much solvent in them) it came up really well in the end, it has been more shiny since I bought it.

As to the Tuf Cloth, I emailed them on friday and they had relpied right back when I got into work this morning Good customer service.

They basically said, yes you will probably put the adhesive back onto what ever you use the cloth on next, and recomended on buying another for protecting blades and keep the old one for cleaning and good marketing

If there's not too much build-up, use a regular eraser and polish with soft paper. Quick and cheap, do it on the run.

If I am at work, I use some methyl alcohol I happen to keep handy.

When at home, I have found regular old lighter fluid to work very well. Cleans well and evaporates quickly.

No problems here!

Hi Bagman. Birchwood Casey, co. of fine gun cleaning and related products offers Sheath in a squeeze can or spray. It cleans, lubes, preserves and... er, removes fingerprints, just like it states on the label! It works pretty well and smells nice to boot!

hey guys try some reloading case lube on the blade before you use it.....the glue won't stick in the first place......
