Cold Steel Kudu destruction test : Toughest folder for the price?

Hey everyone today i decided to do something stupid. I wanted to see just how much gross abuse this $20 knife( much cheaper for you American guys) can take. To the point of breakage of the blade or lock failure. Or both? As i said. This is a stupid idea. Had fun though.
So this was how to knife looked like before the destruction test...

Okay okay it was not in mint condition. I had battoned with it and threw it multiple times without care.
But here is a photo of it brand new ...

Let the destruction commence!
First off, battoning with a ROCK!
Could find a nice piece of wood as batton so i though, what the heck

Really surpised the blade held up even when whacked by a rock on the rather thin spine. No failures of lock
Next up, throwing!

Blade held of of course, and so did the lock.
Next, spine whacks on the rock!

The lock held! I was absolutely wailing on the hard rock multiple times. If you guys have watched Nutnfancy's Knife Graveyard video, where he spine whacked fixed blades on rocks, i was "inspired" by that haha. The blade did not break, which is really awesome considering it was a really hard piece of rock and in the video, some knives did fail, but when i did the kudu, it held! Amazing
Next,prying!

Was pretty hard, but i snapped the tip at last

Something i haven't told you guys, the day before i tried really hard to snap it but it bent and did not break! These pics were after on the next day when i straightened the blade by hammering with a rock. That 4116 by Cold Steel really held up surprisingly.
Think it is over? Not quite. As you can see, it was virtually a fixed blade due to the ring had snapped off so i could not unlock the blade. Thus, even more spine whacks to shut it!

Must have did atleast 20-30 hard as possible spine whacks on concrete when it finally shut. Still works! Still locks after that! Not as secure but it does!

Thanks for viewing guys just showing how tough this very affordable knife is.

I have both Kudu and Eland For price can't be beat . Always one in pocket and X2 Voyager clipped in other pocket. My 1st Kudu would not close. When did ALL at once, seriously cut my index finger. It was replaced with one I carry now .
I have several Spanish knives with this lock system So I was familiar with it when 1st one came.

These knives Eland and Kudu cant be beat for money! They perform better than knives few times that price!I am getting few m.ore of those, have carried more expensive knives before and lost some of them .Krupp steel is not bad and has decent edge holding.

Seriously makes me wonder why other companies still use honestly junk steel like 440A when theres krupp steel

Right now Delta2Alpha is running a series on how to mod the Kudu for more tactical use, to be followed by a video showing the performance benefits. Once they're done, they plan a giveaway of the finished knife.

True 440a heat treated properly is not that bad. The key is most arent using real 440a they are using something similiar and they are not heat treating it to get the best from it.

I see..must be my horrid experience with Boker 440A that put me off so much

well of course it's all relative. 440a done right still ain't gonna hold a candle to good d2 and many many others done right.

but yeah i agreewith ya', bokers chinese made 440a ain't the best by any means.

Have fun thrashing it!

A little worried about stories of the blade opening past full due to positive pressure on blade. But looks like tinkering can fix it.

Pffft probably just lemons. This knife exceeded waaaay past my expectations of what a folding knife of that price could take in terms of abuse so i believe that your eland most likely wouldn't have locking issues of any sort

Pictures just do not do the gruelling test that i did to mine justice at all
