Got mine on Saturday. I have to admit that I'm a fan of value (good knife, low price). The knife was sharp right out of the box. If this an indication of what I can expect from Cold Steel, I'll definitely be buying more. The only disappointment was that the holes in the sheath were too small to mount a pull-the-dot for belt carry. I tried to neck carry but decided it wasn't for me. This evening I decided what hold I wanted to mount the strap to and got a dril and took my time until I had the hole large enough. Now I have a single pull-the-dot and a great little setup for belt carry.

Enjoy! I have a number of Cold Steel products and find all of them to be nicely designed and a good value (although that's not necessarily true for all their products- you have to choose wisely).

I also tend to modify most sheaths to suit my needs. Good job there on yours.

Yeah, good work on that sheath. I couldn't neck carry mine either.

I had the Mini Tac Tanto and thought it was a great little knife for the money.

Might have to get another one.

Yeah, it's hard to go wrong with CS. Looking up reviews and videos can be very helpful tho.

Also, if you're buying something more popular from their line-up you're pretty much save anyways. Stuff like SRK, Recon Tanto, Recon Scout, Bushman... and then popular folders like Recon 1.
Those have been here for a long time so you pretty much know what you're getting.

Then here is this forum, and you can find people who have some less popular models. I had my eye on Drop Forged Hunter for EDC and I jumped the fence after reading good reviews about it on this forum. Whatever you want to buy - someone on here probably already has it, so this is a really nice place :)

I got a mini tac bowie as a christmas present .
As you say its a very nice little knife .
Well designed , came sharp and feels comfy in hand .
Loving the mini bowie blade shape .
A perfect size for stuffing in a day pack.

Nice, I might get one myself. Cold steel makes sheath clips called “C-Clip”s that should fit those eyelets. They have two sizes. The small should fit.

I have the mini tac tanto. Love the knife, hated the sheath. I made my own from an old kydex sheath I had. Doesn’t look the greatest but it has good retention and leaves the whole handle exposed.

That is not a bad looking sheath at all, and the fact that it leave the entire handle exposed is a definite advantage.
Top is "Skinner" version with a Folts type fob . Works for SD .

Do you mind explaining the tape wrapped around the handle on the 2 top knives?

Jealous of that Buck Paradigm, gotta be honest!

I just bought four Mini Tac Bowies directly from Cold Steel at $10 apiece. The Holiday Sale is still going on.

Great little knife, but like others I think the sheath is useless as is unless you carry the whole thing in your pocket or purse. I wish it had some sort of attachment, but I suppose you could rig something up using the holes to strap it onto something with paracord. Seems like a perfect boot knife.

I think I'm going to have to paint some orange on the sheath, the thing loves to hide in plain sight, LOL
