Cold steel ultra lock problem

I recently got a very old recon 1 in a trade and the play was very minor ( front and back) but know there is a lot of front and back play and I didn't do anything with it. Do you guys know what happened or how I could fix it?

First thing is to check the pivot and if it loosened then use LokTite.
