Comfortable Hard Toe Shoes/Boots

Try the Carolina brand steel toe Engineers. That's the boot in my avatar.

So far I have been pleased with the 6" traditional design Irish Setter boots (aluminum toe). I can wear them all day and my feet still feel good and I don't groan about putting them on the next day.

Red Wing Model #2406 for the last 6-8 years. I am in the landscape industry and on my feet all day. Very comfortable.

Timberland pro. I wear their wellingtons -they are super comfortable. I know they make shoes and boots with steel or composite toe.

Same here. I wear the tall waterproof thinsulate for at least ten hours a day and no blisters here. I walk on all sorts of crap from a room full of dropped drywall to the ceiling joists and sheets on a brand new house. Timberland has treated me well.

Blundstones for the win!!!!

I do pest control, 5 to 10 km a day on my feet, up and down ladders, stairs, attics, crawlspaces and more squats a day then I realize.

My last pair lasted 3 years and they are as comfortable as any regular shoe I wear.
A lot of firemen in the municipality I have the pest contract for wear them as well.

Never had a better pair of boots in 28 yrs of industrial work and people ask all the time if they are steel toes because they just look like a nice pair of boots.

Just bought a new pair, no break in time......I wore them that day and no blisters

I have a pair of these Chippewa Chocolate Apache (yeah, I know) Model #20081 in my rotation and they are very supportive and comfortable. They also look less like steel toe work boots than many other options. Made in the USA with Goodyear Welt and Vibram sole.

I wear a 15EEE, so good boots are hard for me to find. I have had the best luck with HiTec Magnum boots. That's all I've worn for the past 15 years or so. No matter what model I had, they fit me perfectly right out of the box, and never needed a break in period. Up until recently, I worked industrial maintenance jobs, so they always got a real work out on a daily basis. They would normally last about 2 years, sometimes 3 if I was lucky. The composite toe was comfortable, and if you didn't know it was there, you wouldn't notice it.

I've been looking at the Blundstones hard toes. Does the elastic on the ankles get loose or strectched out over time?

15EEE, are you related to a Sasquatch? :D I wear a 9.5 to 10 shoe; pretty much the same size as my Dad did. I know a lot of the young people today are sporting really large feet compared to me and they are certainly getting taller.

Keens are incredibly comfortable for safety toe. I've had about 4 pair. I can also recommend Danners for comfort. Redwings are good boots, but personally they are not as comfortable on my fat feet.

Something worth mention in this discussion is socks. The right socks can litterally make all the difference in the world! I would recommend ingenious socks, as well as the ones made by darn tough in Vermont. I'm a big guy and I learned early on about the importance of good socks.

You could go for Nicks, White's or Wesco's

My choice for a hot temperate day:

Been wearing this for half a year, got a lot of compliments and the sole is replaceable. Looks like it will last a long, long time before i even need a 2nd pair.

3 years of 10 hour days, taking them off and on 6 to 10 times a day at customers house's with no loose issues, plus I bet if you had good tread left and for some reason they stretched out they will make it right.

I know a customer that wore his for almost a year in his brewery and never treated or retreated once and the leather on top has cracked due to constant walking in water/beer. They are replacing them free inside the 1 year warranty which is pretty awesome IMOP.

I have impressed upon him to slather them with a little snoseal now and then with the new ones

I have been using the Keen Detroit boots for a few months, so far very comfortable. Only work boot I had had that did not need a pair of insoles put it them.

I think you sold me. I will add a pair to my available safety shoe pile in the next month or so. My usage is similar to yours. Are they true to size or run large or small?
