What would you say are the limits of the Duku Parang as far as chopping without chipping or deforming the edge? For real.
I wanted to get one of this but I was afraid some really really hard, dry woods might be too much for this blade. Opinions will be wekcome. And I'd also like to know if it's full tang. I mean, full length and thickness visible through the handle.

I hit some pretty hard old wood with it with a whole lot of force with no problems..no damage whatsoever really.
I would not be phased having to chop through a 4" round bit of wood with it...
I also battoned the crap out of it, and purposely battoned through knots in the wood.
The tang appears to be full, it may be skeletonised, im not sure, but the metal tang runs the whole way around / through the handle..
You dont need to worry about it not being strong.

I liked this thing so much i also ordered the el salvadore...i ordered it because i think their stuff is so good, not because I felt the duku was lacking in anything.
I would trust this blade.
EDIT; oh and the el salvadore arrived a few minutes ago. Will give it a test after work
