Council Tool Flying Fox

Not at all likely. The folks at Council are very liability-shy and for some reason feel they'd be opening themselves up to possible lawsuits if they sold heads only, with the possibility that the end consumer would do the job poorly.Personally I disagree with their stance, but that's their position and I don't see them changing it.

I may have missed this info, and sorry if you already let us know. Will you be listing the flying fox for sale?
Thanks FortyTwo

Yes, I was up late last night working on the photo cutout work for listing it since Council's stock photos are garbage. Should be up later today if things go to plan.

Ordered mine from42 blades this morning got all 3 with the special grade option looking forward to them and maybe rehafting one of them a wee bit longer. I love councils boys axe and their hudson bay which my wife laid claim to long ago. I can only dream they would do a hardened poll boys axe. I would buy a fistful of those. It is by far my most used axe.

Oh no. My wife will be at a loss when looking for my gift... any idea how long till it comes in?

I didn't get a direct notice from my sales rep, but the sales order seemingly indicated 11/1. Hopefully it'll be sooner than then, but I won't be surprised if that ends up being the case.

Ugh, I played that game once. Have you had one before? That's a special kind of pain you will never forget.

Fox out of the box! The sharp end was wrapped securely – the bit had one of the synthetic edge covers, that was stuck into a heavier rubber block, then the whole head was wrapped in cellophane material.

The edge looks quite good coming from the factory other than there is a burr on one side that I will quickly lay down.

I also picked up a medium CT mask for it just so I can take it with me on an outing.

It arrived yesterday via UPS and I haven’t been able to use it yet but I’m looking forward to it. I can picture it on a handle a couple of inches longer but it’s not wanting it badly enough to not run it as it is. It sure feels good in hand and I really like the overall look of it. I think leaving it proud is fine but the barrel wedge kind of splayed out the edges of the tongue. The handle is all heartwood with a little “character –knot” at the end of the swell. I don’t know if it’s blasphemy but I am inclined to strip the stickers, scrape/sand the handle a touch and oil it just to make it mine.

Might be later this weekend before I use it too much, I just finished a fun game called “Kidney Stone”.

I've never had a kidney stone but it's one of the only things in life that I'm afraid of lol. My father doesn't emote very much, but when I was a teenager he had his first kidney stone. From all the way across the house I could hear him puking so violently it rattled my nerves. So I'm very good about drinking lots of water. If it happens I will deal with it, but I do more to avoid that than I do heart disease or cancer lol.

Since you fellows have brought up kidney stones I will pass my experience along. I was passing a kidney stone about every 90 days for a few years. Not much fun. Mine were tested and found to be uric acid. Because of other health issues my Doctor suggested I get a sleep study done to see if I have Sleep Apnea, which I do have. I got the C-PAP machine and have been using it nightly ever since 1999. The interesting thing is the kidney stone problem went away ... 20 years kidney stone free!

The next batch landed today, sooner than expected. A couple hacked each other up bouncing around in the box, but the rest are available. I'll try to get to listing the "Grade B" ones soon, but feel free to contact me about them if interested. I'm working on a sheath template at the moment, too.
Can I claim a grade A one for pick up over the weekend?

B grade might fit my needs. Let me know what you want for one.
