CPM 15V Sharpening | Silicon Carbide versus Cubic Boron Nitride.

i use the japan just for micro bavel,i buy a nice wheel from wood worker site can run dry or water on my tormek

look at woodturnerwonders site have tormek compatible grinding wheel that can run dry with lubrican and water allgrain is avalible and fit realy good on tormek the best is thatgrain from 240-1200

cbn wheel for tormek woodwondersturners ,is my favorite and you have exact shaft diameter for tormek, simply tap tormek fit great choice amd form thank

I've heard good things about Wood Turners Wonders' wheels. I use the CBN wheels from Schleif Junkies, which I like because you can run them in water without having to worry about corrosion.

thank for the info excuse my i never sharpened knife over 65 hrc is the harder i shapen, a good 440c welltempered 57-60 hrc is my best for my ,i try s30v and s90v,but i see no adventage for ny personal use vs 440c always fresh easy to make rasor sharp, and d2 is what i like to simply oil it before storing thank ,

Some Color Metallography I did of CPM 15V.

We can see the carbide sizes and volume in the matrix. The "blue" areas are the steel matrix the little hair like lines show the tempered martensite.

Wow, that is crazily good sample prep and optical metallographic equipment  What is your guess/calc grain size?

In the name of science, I officially name this carbide * BBB * :)
