Craftsman stamps

Thanks for starting this squrepeg...sadly I am just getting to it now.

My contribution to the thread...repeated yes but who doesn't like seeing Craftsman in a single or double oval;)

I can't view a lot of the photos in this thread so forgive me if these stamps are repetitive. I only recently started getting craftsman axes i feel are nice ones. All are different stamps! I just got this one today.

Here's a couple single bits I've had for a couple weeks now.

They are nice axes in my opinion. Those double bits are a different and better quality than the single bits though. It's obvious in finish and hardness of steel. Also, when new they were both black and the sb's were green. Anyone compiled a list of any sort regarding all these different stamps?

Rookie here could use some help trying to identify the stamp on this Craftsman axe. I went through this entire thread and a couple of others but have not found any info.I posted this in another thread a while back not knowing that this one existed. Received some helpful comments and compliments but at that time no one could identify what the " F's " below the bars signified on each side of the stamp. Was hoping someone could at this time shed some light on that and possibly help date the axe as well.Took some extra pictures with the thought that the profiles might give an indication as to the manufacture. Pick this one up off the bay sometime back for $35 delivered. The head is solid on the haft and appears to have seen little use. Also appears to be properly hung with a nice haft. Won't see a whole lot of use from me since it's really too big for me to swing for any length of time. Got a bad case of old age!!!! Just One of those things I had to have. Would greatly appreciate any of y'alls insights into it. Thanks in advance. I hope to be able to contribute to some of the threads here in the near future as I begin my new hobby. I am going crazy digging in old Sears catalogs, trying to remember where I have seen Sears/Plumb connection.
At least, I have found some interesting pics.
I knew Trojan, Fulton, Merit axes were produced by Kelly, but it seems some Craftsmans were too

Just “had” this axe for years, forgot how I came by it. I don’t have much need for an axe for my little yard. That has changed as I had a part of my neighbor’s 70’ ash tree taken down that overhangs my detached garage, been splitting around 30 logs roughly 18-22” wide. She took a nice clean edge easily with a file.

I think this is the boy’s axe, 28” handle, (has red paint by the head). Very handy and efficient. After a maul to halve the logs it feels like I’m not swinging anything. ;)

Thanks. I figured from some reading the 3.5# head, but couldn’t find any info on the F1 or specific stamped Craftsman logo. I’m not too sure if it’s a collectible axe or not, but I really like it. Considering it cost $10, I don’t think I did too bad. I’ll have to look into the Vaughan manufacturing aspect. Thanks again!

It's probably from the 50's or 60's because of the convex cheeks. Later they went to flat cheeks (which suck because they're sticky). If the bits aren't terribly worn you have a very good user axe.

Basically a barn-find: 3lb 7oz Craftsman double bit head with "sideways barn" C and no lines. 4.5" cutting edges. Michigan pattern?

Is this likely from the 70s/80s, or earlier than that? Thanks!

From the bevels in the cheeks I'd guess it's earlier, 50's-60's.
Thanks for the feedback. This is only my second Craftsman axe (my first was 1980s/90s single bit w/ broken fiberglass handle that I rehung on wood. it's actually one of my best buckin' axes lol). I'm excited to hang it.
