CRKT Hissatsu 2 Heiho outburst assisted folder

After checking... the first character mean soldier/military while the second character means technique/strategy......

To sum both words, it means Art or War.....

On the other hand, the chinese characters on the blade of Hiassatsu folder (the 2903 model) have other meaning....

Are you able to push your Lawks lever all the way down? Only the tip of my lawks lever slips between the liner and with a little force the lawks will pop out of place.

Yes my lawks moves fully behind the liner lock and doesn't slip out of place. I'd contact CRKT if you're worried about it. I don't every really use mine, so as long as the rest of the knife in in good order I'd probably just keep it. BUT I can also understand you wanting it fixed since it is one of the features you paid for.

Like I said, contact CRKT.

quick question to the owners of a heiho, are they in aus8? I ask this because many sites have them labelled as aus8 but just as many (including CRKT says is 8cr14mov) any idea as to why the conflicting info? change in blade steel? If anyone knows anything on this I'd be interested to hear what you know.

Thanks

I remember it saying AUS-8 when I got mine (years ago), but there are no markings on the blade to indicate one way or another. My guess is that they recently changed it.

Do you owners of the Hissatsu notice during blade release, and eventual lock in upright position, causes a "vibration" in the handle? Or is it just mine?

It's not just yours. It's part of the Outburst assisted opening mechanism. The spring pushes the blade open and then is completely unsupported (except for the base where it's attached), so it vibrates for a moment after the knife has been 'fired'. Not the best AO design in my opinion, but it works.

I have both the Heiho and Hissatsu 1. Both knives were ok to open out of the box, just a little hard on the thumb. I have deassisted both and never looked back... The are both very smooth to open and have made both knives so much more reliable. No fumbling around to look for the right position, just a flick and the blade is opened with no fuss. The lawks are functional on both and I can close both knives with one hand no problems. The Heiho is my favourite as a edc as it is smaller, lighter, has a nice low rider pocket clip and opens unassisted very smoothly.

The only drawback is that they are not so much edc orientated knives but maybe the one of the best defence knives around. Both came with razor sharp blades and no play whatsoever. Love the looks and special feel in the hand too.
