I think the 16 deserves its own spot for us to post up photos. This design is going to be a classic and its responsible for exposing a lot of new people to BK&T products. It's close to being the "grail" knife for me. Here is one to get us started:

Damn those wood handles are nice! Now that I have Tommy handles, I need to get another 16. I didn't like my mods last time. I think this time I'd just do my strip/blue/polish method.

The one I would love to have.

Even though it never worked out for me, I still admired the 16:

bk16 FPR with Tommy the Who Scales. I have some 710 green burlap micarta scales coming,,,cant wait to try those.

Where do you get them???? Only have seen flat grind.

They still sell them at SMKW but they are etched on one side with EB's sig and some other letters in a strange typeface. Derek was lucky enough to get an unmolested version. I've been thinking about picking one up and grinding off the etch. Need some sheaths first though.

Right after a white vinegar patina (soaked for about an hour):

SMKW has some of the first production run blades. They are marred with saying "FIRST PRODUCTION RUN" across the blade, and they have Ethan's signature on them also. There have been a precious few that were saved from the molestation. I know of I think 4 now that have some with out the "FPR" or signature on them. There have been a few from Amazon that are saber ground with the new coating which seem to be an oddity to say the least. Since Ka-Bar doesn't really recognize their existence.

Just got this a few weeks ago. While I was left unsupervised for the majority of the week.

Not ever being able to leave things alone I had to "play" with it some.
Sprayed the scales with spray in bed liner to see how tough it is and if I could add some texture.

Then mixed a custom color with some DuraCoat I had left over.

And of course stripped with some Patina starting.
