>>>DID YOU GET A KNIFE THIS HOLIDAY?<<<

I bought myself an M2 AFCK a few weeks ago, using the rationale that it would be an early Christmas present.

They say money can't buy happiness, but it can buy KNIVES, and knives make me happy.

I got a Dalton Gypsy.
I know a lot of people dont like the finish on Daltons and I have to admit the finish isn't the greatest but I don't care.
I like Daltons and this one is my favorite.

Happy holidays.

On Christmas Eve Santa brought me a package by way of FedEx. To my surprise it was a MicroTech High Polished Nemesis. Boy does it look awesome! I'm going to put it in my new mahogany display case, which my best friend bought for me for Christmas (thanks Art). Right next to the Brend Halo II. I think I have a new favorite knife, that is until I get my APM. Anyone want to sell an APM?

Well I thought Santa gave me a present. Seems a SOCOM D/A Myseteriously appeard in the back seat of my wife's car. WOW I actually never owned one so I thought this was her way a saying Merry Christmas when she found it there. Then I figured it out. Spark went went with us the other night to watch Star Trek and it must of slipped out of his pocket. Oh well... Funny thing is he does not know it is missing or at least he has not asked me about it... Should I tell him?

I got an Ed Fowler knife that is fantastic. It is one of his "Pronghorn"
models, my brother tells me Ed made it for some gun Co. bigwig who didn't
like the fit. My brother asked Ed to send me "something special" and Mr.
Fowler sent me this. Not too shabby, eh?

It has almost a 4 1/2" blade, of a large clip point style, with a Moran
style edge (not hollow ground or chisel cut, it is a smooth curved thinning
of the blade to an edge, a simple analogy might be, "it's like the Star Trek
symbol"
smile.gif
) He made it by forging a 3" ball bearing. It has neat lines
along it from the differential hardening.

Then comes big brass single guard. Fairly wide, with a big curved finger
guard. You'd be safe with gloves on or with numb fingers, according to Mr.
Fowler. Engraved with his ("standard?) eight petaled guard embellishment.

Then comes two pieces of what look like some kind of smoky quartz. The grain
of the two pieces matches, so I don't know why it was cut into two pieces.
The colors go with the horn nicely.

Then comes a big ol' piece of sheep horn. It's curved (along with the brass
guard and the quartz) so that the knife has a sort of "pistol" grip. The
horn gets larger toward the rear, and has a cross section that approximates
a letter "D" with the curve toward my (right) palm, and my fingers finding
places to sit on the "flat" side (which isn't flat, but has a series of
bumps on it).

Hard to imagine I'm sure.

I've taken some "studio" pictures, and after I
get them developed, I'll try to figure out a way to post them here
somewhere. I know I'll be able to email them to other's if they are
interested, just let me know!

The sheath is very simple and rugged. It is one of his (standard?) pouch
style made of very think hide, that holds the knife securely, but allows it
to simply pulled out.

I've had it on my belt since I opened the box. It's very "noticeable"
compared to my usual carry folder, but it is so beautiful and functional in
appearance, with none of the "scare" factor of so many of my knives, that I
think carrying it will improve the image of a "knife holder" around here!

Santa has been _very_ _very_ good to me!

Thomas

P.S. Oh, and a very good specimen of a BM 3500. Sweeet!

July - CRKT KISS
August - Cheap Italian Stiletto
September - White Wolf Pocket Pro
November - Dalton M6, GT Mini

Have a Krait on order! A new large decorated Sebenza arrived with a swedge. An Axis now resides in my house as well as a Genesis. Finally, a custom Wegner with titanium slabs. I can't complain - my only problem will be in deciding what to carry!

Sweet wife got me a "smatchet" style knife from
Eight Dollar Mountain Foundry and a Busse "Steel Heart II"
Geez. Im a lucky guy!!

I realised i wasn't going to get any knives this year so I went on and bougt myself one.

A Fallkniven F1. It is a hell of a knife and I love it, but I have yet only used it to cut up some smoked dried reindeer meat, which it accomplished with briliance.

Had to get myself an X-mas knife this year....or maybe two. I traded for a Busse Steel Heart. Darn big knife, and in perfect condition. All it needs now is a slightly thinner convex edge ;-)

My other gift to myself is the knife I started just before I left for Christmas with the family. In the spirit of the 'Ultimate Figher' thread that had went on over on the 'other' forum, I ground myself a 9" blade texas bowie fighter, based loosely on the half size texas bowie on my website. Only two differences is that it has a Busse style handle with a butt hook and palm swell, and no upper guard, and it has a 5" ground to the center of the blade, clip style false edge that should sharpen up real nice. Its 3/16" stock, 1 1/2: wide at its widest point, and ground from, what else, D-2 ;-)

Well, let's see, I got a

Rekat Pocket Hobit
MOD Trident
Kershaw Random Task
BM Stryker
United Spec Machete
United Spec Ops Utility ATS-34
Gerber Covert
Boye cobalt folder
Buck Intrepid
Hawg Millenium
Two Spyderco Enduras(they were a good deal)
Two Blackie Collins-Meyerco-"Strut-n-Cut"(another Good Deal)

and a partridge in a pear tree.

OK, so maybe I just got a Buck 110 for Christmass, we can all dream can't we.

I got a kershaw random task and it is a great knife.fit and finish are perfect.thank you santa!

My BM Stryker might not compare with all the Great knives listed above, but I'm tickled to tears with it. The most money I've ever spent on a knife, and boy did it open up a new world. Next stop Sebenza.

Well, not very tactical, but I got a little Pume 2 blade pocket knife with a bone handle. Kinda nice for a change though. A good knife to use when those around you maybe a little leary of umm.... real knives.
