I'm looking to get a leather sheath for my bk2 and came across this sheath that looks ABSOLUTELY gorgeous. It's quite pricey though but then again I don't really know how much a nice leather sheath usually goes for.

Do any of you guys have it? Worth the high price?

nope. can't afford it. that's like 1/4 rent or 1/2 a car payment.

there are a few leather sheath makers on the forums that make a good sheath for less. MyWifeThinksImCrazy and wildmanh come to mind.

I've one for my Ka Bar next gen. Very durable, very nice and very worth the money. My bk2 hasn't arrived but I figure If I got a sheath I would get it from mywifethinksimcrazy. Much less expensive and he'll put a pouch on it, which is my favorite feature. I saw clich's and it was very nice.

Paul makes some really killer sheaths but for that price I personally would rather buy more knives. When I decide to get a custom sheath for my two and possibly new 10 (IF IT GETS HERE, I AM FREAKIN OUT MAN) I am going to abuse and use one of the guys here in the forums.

I too have seen the ones hedgehog makes on it website and they look great. But I've never seen one up close or held one. That being said I have a hard time justifying almost $200 so a sheath. What I can tell you is I got one made, just the way I wanted, with firesteel loop and altoids tin pouch from nick (mywifethinksimcrazy) and it is outstanding. It was very very fairly priced (Im not at liberty to post cost because his prices are between himself and his customers) but if you want one made, id get on his list as early as you can because he is gonna be busy with bk10 stuff if he is not already.

My photography skills and camera phone do not do this justice at all

Nick (MWTIC) made me one similar for my BK9 that can change from scout to dangler mode for a fraction of the Hedgehog price.

Gotta agree with you there! :)

Its always better to support our local folks, and those two are great up and comers in the leather world.

Wow, thanks leatherman! I'm always ogling over your work. That means a lot.

My sheath was made by Nick (mywifethinksimcrazy) and it's great. Not sure what he charges since I won minw in a contest, but I am sure it is less than hedgehog leather works.

Thanks for all the response and suggestions. Personally for me the sheath is pretty important especially when it's for a knife I really like. It's kind of like the photography lovers who buy a camera for $500 and then pair it up with a $2000 lense. I'm going to have to do some deep thinking.

I know that I am going to be contacting MywifethinksIamcrazy, for my Sheath work.
To me his stuff looks as good as the hedgehog ones, and hes a Becker head so win win.

Well, first things first, Paul's sheaths are perfect. And I mean perfect. I've seen my fair share of them, and I know Paul personally. Great guy, and a great leather bender.

I don't own one of his sheaths, I can't afford to spend that kind of money on leather for my knives. Plus, I can't imagine crawling through a swamp, with Jeff Randall telling me to go faster, get lower, and stop &%^$ around, with that beautiful sheath on my belt. Its just too perfect, kinda like something you only want people looking at it through glass.

On the other hand, I know for a fact that they are one of the most durable leather sheaths you can buy, with a LOOOOOONG warranty against failure, and pretty damn innovative.

I give HH a thumbs up, but no money, I'm a poor ass hillbillie.

Plus, I make my own.

But they ain't perfect. Paul's are, everyone. Guaranteed.

You are very welcome, and thank you. :)

I've seen you make good progress in your work, and that's key. Never stagnate only doing the same thing over and over again. Always strive to do better on each and every piece.
