Well i did a couple damascus recurve double grind knives here latley, They drew some attention,So i figured id do one in 1095 and try to get a nice hamon on it,I did a flat grind on this one so the hamon would show well if it turns out,if not we will try again!so here we go

Time for the clay coat to process a hamon

Time to go in the forge and bring the blade up to temp for quenching,in we go !

Enjoy guys if you only knew how hard it was to try to do all this with a camera in one hand and a set of 24" tongs holding a red hot peice of steel in the other! Lmao its a trip! But its fun and helps newbys out alot as they say a picture is better than a thousand words
 
This is great! I am beginning to start making my own knives so ill take as many of these threads as i can!
