Doug Ritter RSK Knife Announcement

It's not a great pic of the scales, but on post #137 is a pic of the REI scales. The ones above are not. It looks like the poster of that photo said they were Camp Perry scales.

That's correct. They are factory LE BM scales that were swapped.

Seems to me the BM freek took on the Ritter blade shape and maybe the edge geometry. Anyone confirm?

I was emailing with a BM CS Rep about replacement clips and asked if they had a similar replacement coming out now that the Ritter agreement was over. He said no. I guess whatever they have planned they aren't going to bill it as a replacement.

There is a picture of a Freek and a Ritter next to each other floating around somewhere. You can see the influence, but there are very clear differences. I wasn't a huge fan of the Ritter shape, and I'm not sold on the Freek design either.

I just received my Doug Ritter Mini. Wowww the sharpest knife I bought (except for a little ding that I retouched). Then I recycled my scales on it....

I dont have a mini ritter, but i will get one......question is this: why a mini ritter over a custom mini using m4?

My guess is the blade shape, high flat grind and m390 steel.
I'd prefer an m4 LE or custom any day.
The only Ritter I'd be interested in is the M2 mini.

just heads up to those still on fence, the large ritter offered with orange scales looks to have sold out. quoting Doug, when they're gone, they're gone. and at rsk of repeating myself, you don't want to be the guy hunting an example down on the bay a few months from now at ridiculous markup, all the while kicking yourself in the process...

Yeah. Just pulled the trigger on both a large and two small rsk. One as a gift for my nephew who is turning 16 in april. I will also buy a couple of wilkinsgrips to make the good knives highclass knives

Just ordered my first DR Grip today from KW, which had great CS btw.
Pretty excited to lay my hands on it next week.
The real question is what type of aftermarket scales are going on it first...

Put D.O.A.T's on it...your DR Grip deserves the best!

I was lucky enough to order an Orange Mini from KW's a month ago or so. First Benchmade, first Mini Grip, and first time trying out M390. I love this little blade. I handled a full sized Griptilian and really disliked the handle material. I knew it was something I wasn't a fan of, but when my Mini Ritter came I actually really liked it. Didn't feel hollow or have an overly "plastic" feel at all. Fit and finish were top marks, shaving sharp, even bevels, and dead center.

I was on the fence about buying one until I saw this announcement on Doug's website. Very, very happy with the purchase. So thank you Doug and thank you Benchmade for putting out this great EDC blade.

The Ritter Grip with m390 steel and factory scales is a very strong workhorse of a knife. Hand filling and comfortable to use at work. Sturdy. Lightweight. The knife in factory condition is a real bargain in my opinion. Maybe the only Benchmade that was truly a bargain for the money these days.

Second this. I dont quite understand spending $100+ for custome scales that will blow the total total cost to $240+. The way I see this knife is that it is primarily a work horse and hence any dress up is really countering to that.

I ordered a full size and mini this week also. Here's a pic of my full size wearing AWT scales. The mini will be identical.

looks like they got some more full sized with orange scales back in.

really dig awt's scales; tempted to snag another mini just to justify another set.
