Drop point or tanto on your edc?

For me OP, it's definitely a drop point, & a fixed blade drop point btw. Honestly, the main reason(s) is likely aesthetics for me...when I was younger, I really dug the tantos much more than I do currently. Well executed DPs exude timeless class in my eyes, but I completely get why some folks dig the tantos. It's just that they are all wrong.

Has there been a time you had a task a drop/clip point would not penetrate?

Yes. I once ran into an abnormally thick dog food can. The can opener wouldn't take a grip and my Buck 119 special wouldn't go through it. I grabbed a knife I now know is a tanto and punched through it with the rage of the incredible hulk

I rotate between an insingo, drop point, and tanto sebenza pretty evenly. Love all the styles!

I am not a big tanto fan, but its really what you like not what we like. Congrats on a cool BM and welcome to the forum.

Damn dude, did it break your 119!? Never would I stab metal with my babies, but heck, you stab those dogfood cans![emoji106]😃 Just be careful!

I used to not like a tanto, never thought it served a real purpose until I bought one.
Now, yeah, they have a purpose and are a part of my regular rotation. My main use is for work related chores.
