This answers the question about what I do when something in my head insists that the fixed blade I'm carrying is too small... http://i.imgur.com/GidECtM.jpg http://i.imgur.com/imswINo.jpg
The Patriot is big enough for most of my routine, day to day, cutting tasks; but there's always the chance that I'll have (or want) to stick a sharp pointy object into something, and it's just not the right tool for that job. Enter the thing on the bottom...it isn't much for knifely duties; but it's pretty darn good for sticking. And, yes, it IS 5/16" http://i.imgur.com/bEA4ag2.jpg
Back in the shop today finishing up the repair on my remodeling clients' cane leg stool. The center hub had two snapped off screws in the front recess and I had to dig a pretty big pit to get them out. I drilled it out with a 3/4" twist bit and glued in a maple dowel. I carved the dowel to match the contour of recess with my Benchmade Proper.
@Blade1LE: Thanks! Yes, San Pellegrino is a good one but this is a special one . Produced in rather small quantity and it’s presided over by Slow Food Organization. Great taste !
