No , one's concerns must be dealt with openly and honestly . . . with much time and examination they can be accepted and then put behind one .
They're not going to go away on their own .

I've said over and over that if I had it to do over again , rather than being a mechanic and trying to save the environment , I should have become a psychiatrist (with a knee surgery on the side) . I meeeeeen talk about job security .

Just proves how sane you are .
I carry a knife roll / wallet with me to work (and have another one that stays in one of my tool chests at work ) .
I assume I should be embarrassed by that but some how I'm just not feeling it . . .
in my defence I do uncrate a lot of machines from thick wall boxes so I "need" the works .

And I am always testing / comparing one knife to another of similar ilk (I've decided to call it science) .
but no . . . no . . . forgetting one's pocket knife at home seems pretty "healthy" all things considered .
 
OK, this is kind of a cheat as to what I carried today, as I didn't really in the sense of sticking something IWB or in pocket. It started raining hard last night and kept up throughout the day, putting a bit of a kibosh on what I'd planned on doing. I was gonna grab a work knife and start going through all my truck-carry building tools this morning. Lots have just been sitting in the shed and wood shop since two truck boxes worth were unloaded to make space for our stuff on the last Vermont trip with one box removed to make room for the log splitter. In the afternoon I was supposed to meet with a builder friend/client to go over some sheetmetal work he needed at two of his jobs. Neither of those were rainy day tasks.

I did go through some older 24v cordless drills, batteries, and chargers I took into the basement sheetmetal shop to see what might be set aside. Yesterday's knife carry sat on the table upstairs as there's no lack of sharp objects to be had in the shop. I made our lunch and evening meals around reading, web surfing, and doing a little phone business, only grabbing the Arius to have alongside me in the kitchen and for getting a few pics when the rain finally slacked off later in the afternoon. I didn't cut anything except for food prep with a couple of our Wusthof kitchen knives.

Yeah . Parking in the street ; rookie mistake.

I ride the bike in town , only to get to work , but always assume one of two things , depending on my mood , one that the automobile I see has no driver and is just rolling along uncaptained orrrrrrr that the driver is an orangutan from outerspace . . . who has not familiarized them selves with the conveyance they have commandeered .
