Edge angle for 425M Buck 703

I've got an old Buck 703 that I am starting to carry more often again. I bought it in about 1981, so it has the old 425M steel. I've always sharpened it to about a 25° angle (each side) as that was the original angle on the blades. But I got spoiled with the way my Benchmade and Spyderco knives cut. They have thinner edge angles. (duh)

So I'm thinking about changing the 703 edge to a thinner angle. Say 15°-17°. Does anyone have experience sharpening the old Buck 425M steel to that kind of angle? Will that steel support that angle? (I'm lazy. I'd rather ask first than change it and find out the hard way.)
