Anyone have any experience with the Emerson/Kershaw collaborations? Are they good quality or gimmicky?

I picked up the Kershaw Emerson CQC-4KXL when it was on sale for $20. I rarely carry it because it is a bit too aggressive for everyday use, but there is no question I got my money's worth in terms of a knife. List price is about $45 and I would say at that price, you get what you pay for. So on super-sale, it is a great value.
As for the knife itself, if you haven't used a knife with the wave feature, it really is a game changer if you need quick deployment and worth checking out. I am not a fan of the thumb disk, but it isn't a deal breaker. In the rare circumstance that I am carrying a knife for defense instead of for common tasks, this one goes in my pocket.
