Engraving?

After seeing a couple threads about folks losing their knives, I was wondering if anyone has gotten their name or contact info lasered onto the steel? I was thinking along the tang on the blade side (so it's under your knuckles when you hold it). Something simple like email address (I move and change phones too often for any other method to be reliable for more than about a year) and "Reward if found." Has anyone done this or something similar? Any other thoughts or suggestions?

you could just do it with an engraving pen... no need to get it laser etched... wouldnt be cost effective i would imagine
