Is it a two handed affair to get the knife out? My sheath was very stiff.
I just made a simple kydex sheath for mine.

Mine wasn't stiff at all. Quite supple, actually. Knife goes in and out perfectly. I got one of the very first runs on these, as soon as they hit the market.
Maybe the later sheaths were from a different leather? I just didnt' like the belt loop on mine, and that's why I added the dangler. I generally prefer the dangler anyway.

Really? I have TKC handles on mine, think they're a major improvement. No experience with the new Esee 3d ones.I'd trade you my standard ones for those 3d ones if overseas shipping wasnt so much.

They feel more like polished G-10 than Micarta, and they're kind of slippy in the hand. I'm gonna keep it in the collection, though. Might change my mind someday...

Lightly wiping those scales down with denatured alcohol will take some of the slickness away from the polished micarta. It will also knock down the gloss. I did it to my Esee 4 and have better purchase on the scales now.

The Candiru has proven to me that it's a very capable little knife. I had a few weeks of holidays (hunting) recently and I exclusively used the Candiru for skinning game. I only stropped it each night before the next day of shooting.I was very happy with its edge holding ability. Many rabbits, hares, foxes and larger game were all skinned with this beauty. I was especially happy with how easy it was to clean.
