We drove North for five hours to hunt some new scrubby hill country. We had a great day seeing native animals and smashing ferals. Of course I had an ESEE.

(unlike my other Esee knives I kept it mint . )
It came from a contest on the Esee forums years ago.

Eildon Dam mate. We are camped in the Murrindiindi Shire home of the Taungurung tribe.
I can imagine our usa friends reading this and thinking wtf.
I'd recon you would have fished here in the past mate.

John it's definitely different to my dry flat lands. It's a nice place to visit. They ere expecting nearly 5 inches of rain this week here. That's a third of our yearly rainfall back home .

We drove around some mountain trails today and stopped for lunch on a log.

Another outdoors lunch today.
Brought the Kelly Kettle and the Esee 4 to make coffee, fry some bacon, eggs and tomato to go on some nice thick sandwiches.
Love moments like this, so peacefully and it clears my mind.

After preparing my firewood with the Esee 4 I put on the kettle first for some coffee.
Flint and steel to get it lit.
This gives me a nice layers of coals that'll ignite the rest of the wood when I put my pan on.
Also gives my coffee time to cool off while I prepare the food.

Time to get my bacon done, this is the best part. The smell is delicious.

Next up, 2 eggs with some salt and pepper.

Then the tomatoes, took longer than I thought.
Next time I'll do the eggs in the end so they're warmer.
The tomatoes stay hot forever anyway.

And ready to eat.
Tasty stuff.

Real nice. The wife and I love driving the forest roads!! Never know what you will see!!
Couple times a year we head north to the Allegheny National Forest and drive around!!

It is nice, where I live there isn't many trees (except walnuts) and to see the very tall mountain ash trees is a treat especially for the little fella. He normally walks around with a stick poking poo and looking for tracks but that trip his head was always looking up in amazement.
