Probably great for peeling fruit too !I got some plastic handled Pallares carbon steel blades, I thought the small little yellow one was small but after playing with it, I think it and the other were exactly what I was looking for a simple inexpensive cutter. The bigger one has a little over a 3 inch blade and the smaller one is about 2.75 inches. I like the traditional Spanish shape.

Reminds me a lot of the Box Wood handled (little folder) knife that I finally found this last winter . I had been searching for a Box Wood handled anything- knife for quite a while .
