External Frame Packs? Still any good ones made?

Thanks Lambertiana, just what I was looking for. I hate getting a super sweaty back, so the vented backpanel was a key feature that drew me to it as well, among some of the other nice features.

It sounds like you may have found what you're looking for, but I thought I'd add that Mystery Ranch makes a very nice external frame (called the NICE frame). Their packs are on the spendy side of things, but very high quality and the frame articulates. The other downside, besides cost, is weight. I used this frame for two packs - the crew cab and the RATS pack.

I've never tried one personally, but heard good things about the Bergans external frame pack.

I don't know however how difficult it will be to find one on your side of the pond....

The Alps Mountaineering Zion external frame back looks like a good pack.

I think Ive come to the conclusion that there aren't any high end (large) internal packs made anymore. Or at least any we can get in the States. Except for the D2 doesn't look like anything comes close to my old Jansport.
