Factory seconds?

Will they sell factory seconds on the other models once they are done?
I just ordered a 5.1 seconds but that wouldnt of been my first choice, just the only thing I could get.
I wanted 3v so the mystery steel wasnt an option for me. Id like to get a 7-7, 8, 10, 12
 
Once they fill the starter campaign orders and pre-orders they will open each model up for regular ordering (Monday sales). I assume there will be seconds available as they find them. As long as they meet quality/functionality requirements I'm sure they'll list those too

You also have the option of pre-ordering the 8, 10 and 12 still. Your $ will be tied up for a while but you'll guarantee you get one without having fight for it (and upgrades are free on the pre-orders)
 
It is unfathomable to not end up with blemished steel during all phases of the knife making process, specially with S!K's high standards. If you are impatient and impulsive like I am and do not wish to have $ tied up for a long time, their 2nds are a great option as long as you can be quick on the trigger for their Monday sales. Plus if you tend to use your tools as opposed to buying something which you can safe keep in case they become a collectors item, to go for their 2nds is a very good option. I am not suggesting that all those who buy the firsts are collectors but I presume that a small percentage are.

Anyway, you get a discount for the 2nds but then again you pay for the upgrades and some other options are simply not available on their 2nds, such as a ferro notch and/or certain steel options.
 
Even though I am a hard user, I just prefer to buy firsts. Having said that, I've never dealt with another company that I was so happy to buy 'seconds' from.

Ellie has said that with the improvements they've made there will likely be fewer seconds. But I think Casinostocks is right, it will be very difficult to eliminate all seconds, mostly due to their high quality control standards. That should leave room to poach some on Monday sales.
 
If I could put like 100 down and make a couple payments before it was complete I could do that.
But coming up with 250-350 to put down all at once and wait would kill me. Not to mention my wife would too. lol
I guess Ill start saving because I know I want more and havent even gotten my first one.
