Fat Bastard Field Knife Picture thread

I have the new EDC that I absolutely love and have put through the paces over the last few months or so. It has kicked the folders out of my pocket for now. I also have the large CPKs for backpacking, camping, fire pit duties, etc. It’s hard to beat the ergos on a CPK knife.
I can only speak to the EDC 2 in that regard...but 100% agree. I've sung its praises a time or two in other threads.

I’m with you, 91bravo 91bravo - kept imagining the two knives in front of me: SSDFK and FBFK. The FBFK would always stay at home. Also can’t get the pic out of my head that somebody ground down an SDFK for some Austrian idiot.

That being said, I have thicker knives and understand the attraction- so you guys enjoy, of course.

Glad you are getting better Alone Alone .

This was the pic that did it for me. Look at those grinds and that tip geometry!

Same! Well I was ordering one anyway before I saw that picture but after I was really really ordering one.

Let's face it folks.. most of us are degenerate addicts and can find almost any reason to buy a new piece of steel. When they're as badass and frankly budget friendly as these, who can resist?

I’m glad Nate had the sense to pivot and do a quick run of these. I don’t get the ‘test’, I don’t get the ‘tester’, but I understand why making a batch of these was a good idea, and I hope a handful of you guys manage to capitalize on it. It’s my guess that these will fall under a similar blanket as the potato knife, the boot dagger, and I’ll also wager Dickey Moe the fireman’s tool, as time passes.

Fatty-BFK with gastric bypass surgery? I've seen plenty of former fat people with this procedure and they kinda look out of sort!

I luv the way that Mr. Gee thinks, always forward and way ahead of times:

PS. What a crappy old GIF! There is barely $500 in there! Lunch money these days 🤣

I've never sold a CPK. What do I win?

Nor have I, but it’s reassuring to know that whatever money I spend increases in value. Plenty of things don’t, but limited production CPK knives have this attribute. Perhaps you can call it prospecting, but I prefer to perceive it as merely being prospective. 😉

I'm not depending on my knife collection padding my retirement. It's for fun and enjoyment. Occasionally I'll sell one to buy another one.

(If I ever get one of yours, it won't get sold either. Some knives are more equal than others. But there are many, many folks more deserving of that honor before my turn should ever come up, so please don't consider this self-serving.)

Of course not! And there’s plenty of reasons to buy something because it’s a cool toy. This is getting way off topic. My point is that many of these just so happen to increase in value due to their limited production. Some of these guys ARE collectors, and regularly kick themselves for not getting something when it was offered. I merely pointed that out.

I should really make more knives. I actually brought one to Nate’s shindig with a target in mind, but he didn’t show… and I’m not a big enough jerk to reach out to him now, this close to the holidays, so I’ll wait a bit.

Unlike that insensitive, selfish, self-serving bastard Nate, who runs a preorder for a stupid fat knife moments before Christmas.*

🤣

*(FFS you guys, I’m kidding!!!)

Unfortunately no international orders on these so I couldn't play.
On some good news UPS sent me an invoice out of the blue for my FK3/ Basic field knife pre orders which land with me tomorrow 🤞

In the future anyone International that wants to buy a sheath can have Jo ship the knife to me, then I will ship all items to you when your sheath is finished.

All I ask is that you check with me ahead of time to make sure you're in a country I ship to, no issues with Ireland.

Man, that's really thoughtful of you and I appreciate the gesture, but unless you're buying it and reselling it, it doesn't fully address the problems we're trying to address and it also sticks you into the middle of potential problems that you probably don't want to be in the middle of.

Now, if you want to be a dealer and buy and resell, that's something we could talk about.
