And in fact on reflection I DO carry tinder every day in the form of duct tape and clothing (I could shred a small portion of a sock for instance and combine with a duct tape candle to make a very durable flame tinder).
I’m glad you made it through your situations in one piece. I’ve avoided that scenario so far - knock wood.
