First Impressions - The new Boker Plus Urban Trapper!

The stonewashing looks good. I like it much better than the polished blade.

I like my Urban Trapper a lot. Getting used to the flipper nub, I usually pop it out with a fingernail. The blade is one of the sharpest I've gotten from a factory; the knife is a featherweight but solid lockup at 50%. My first boker knife and it's a winner!

Can somebody post pictures of the innards? I would love to see the inside of this knife.

Here is a pic preparing to re-assemble (click for a larger version). The rest of the bearings are in the plastic container in the back. Speaking of which, these are the smallest bearings I've ever seen in a knife. For reference, the detent ball is just under 1mm. Using a ruler, I would estimate that these bearings are about 0.5mm (about 2 hundredths of an inch).

Bloody hell those are small! I think I am good, those will just go absolutely everywhere and I wouldn't expect keeping them all through a single disassemble. Sadly some knives are more headache than they are worth.

Agreed! If a knife takes longer to put together than one of my guns, it's not worthy of my pocket.

However this is still a sexy knife indeed

- I'm also one who disassembles everything, clean and lubricates new knives. I would be extremely nervous about doing that with tiny bearings going everywhere.

I think Brad Zinker favors those tiny bearings. This is what the inside of one of his customs looks like.

Seems that way. It makes sense too; the Ti scales are about 2.5mm thick, the head of the pivot screw is about 1.5mm thick, so that only leaves about 0.5mm left for the bearing (with some of the bearing protruding for the blade to ride on).

first off , i cant believe boker is using vg-10 steel ,,wow,,2nd ..i really like this knife ,,on my wish list for sure
