this is the first sheath I've tried to make, pretty happy with it. made it out of scrap leather for next to nothing, thought I'd throw some pics up.

That's very nice! Great stitching! How long did it take to make?

I just started trying to make sheaths. Here is a photo of my first 3 sheaths made over the past 2 weeks. I bought a piece of 8 ounce leather on eBay, then went to Hobby Lobby and bought some sinew, needles, and dye. Drilled stitch holes on a drill press then handsewed with the sinew. First one took about 6 hours, the second and third ones about 2 hours each. For the 3rd sheath, I got a piece of Ostrich leg leather and glued it to the split cowhide leather. These all tightly fit the Buck 110.

Haha, I was about to say that was some impressive stitching for your first try!! That was definitely the most time consuming part for me, too. Only one side ended up looking straight.

Good work though!
