Hi Folks,
Recently received my new Skaha 2, the action is outstanding. Drop-shut and smoother than oiled glass. Can anyone recommend any other folders that use a flattened ball detent? I'm a big fan and the detent break is fantastic. Thanks.

Sharp by design uses a 'detent nub' which produces a unique action as well

I've used a small round needle file to round off and smooth the detent nub on several of my liner locks. Makes them much easier to open and close.

Some knowledge that has been shared with me is to take the knife apart, take some say 50,000 mesh diamond compound (used in lapidary to polish gems) clean knife thoroughly and put that diamond compound all along the detent ball track. Reassemble and work the knife pivot back and forth say 50x times, disassemble clean thoroughly and repeat the process. This will flatten the detent ball without having to risk ruining the detent ball should you get any variation in angle when trying to use files or diamond stones. 🤙🏻

I’m curious why most other makers/companies don’t use a flattened detent ball as well.
