For those in the Nassau/Suffolk County, NY area with an interested in Filipino Martial Arts Guro Spencer Gee and I will be conducting a demonstration on January 19th at Bettinelli's Community Boxing Academy in Lindenhurst from 3:00 ~ 5:00 pm.
Guro Spencer Gee is a Master of Pananandata (founder: GM Amante P. Marinas), a Filipino martial art that utilizes numerous weapons including single and double sticks of various lengths, the latiko (horsewhip), lubid (rope), bagakay (wooden throwing dart), dikin (rattan ring), daggers and swords. Guro Gee is one of only a handful of Pananandata practioners with Master and Full Instructor Certification. In addition to his expertise in Filipino martial arts Guro Gee represented the United States in 1981 for the first Wushu tour to the People's Republic of China and has extensive training in many other martial arts including Kung-Fu, Jiu-Jitsu and Tai Chi.
Sensei Paul Harris holds Proficiency and Associate Instructor Certification in Martial Blade Concepts, a system of knife fighting skills developed by edged weapons specialist Michael Janich. This edge weapons system has close ties to Filipino martial arts. In addition to his command of edge weapons Sensei Harris holds Nidan ranking and Instructor Certification in American Kobe Jiu-Jitsu (founder: GM Bob Malvagno) and has fourteen years of modern Arnis training.
