Here is something a little different, this forged Bushcraft knife is made from 1080 high carbon steel with a wire brushed forge finish. The blade is 3.5” long with a scandi grind, the bevel was taken down to a zero grind on Japanese water stones then brought up to a 1000 grit finish. It has a very small micro bevel to strengthen the blade. The handle is 3.75” long with black canvas micarta. Price is $100, payment can be sent to edgeknifeworks@gmail.com. Price includes shipping and a lifetime warranty.

This looks pretty close to one I might want, just don't have the $$ right now. Can you tell me about the HT?

Absolutely, the blade was thermal cycled 3 times after forging, the first cycle around 1600, second at about 1500 and the third cycle at just barely non magnetic so right around 1400-1450. The blade was allowed to fully cool between cycles then brought back up to the 1450-1500 range and quenched into pre heated canola oil. The blade easily skated a file after quenching and was tempered for two cycles of 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Each cycle was for 1.5 hours. The heat treating was all done in a forge by watching color and checking with magnets with no ambient light to be as accurate as possible. The blade should be 59-60Rc. This is the same process I use for most of my blades of this size and I regularly test blades with this process to ensure performance. If you are interested in this blade I would be glad to hold it for you and mark it pending until you are ready.

Thank you for the in depth reply. No need to hold it just for me. I will keep a eye out for your work. It's more of a want than a need. Again thanks.
