Beautiful, I am jealous. Thanks for the reminder, it is getting real close to that time when I need to go hit up some wild desert blackberries
Not in that picture I don't. Once the linen micarta is wet,the texture becomes like fine sandpaper. Very grippy, even if coated in fish slime, mud, blood, etc. Even though,I sometimes have a "quick lanyard"(zip tie and light rope) attached around the choil/top finger dip area if need be. Also,I usually have my 16 with me in the 'yak, not the 1-7,as both knives fit my "poor mans flipper" sheath. I will be making up some lanyards over the weekend, stay tuned.
Made a couple of these up on the weekend. Looks a bit agricultural, but does the job. Simple, cheap, strong, easy to make and they work. (Just like my flipper sheath) Coil is 1/8th inch trimmer line, about 4 feet long. They also work well for other tools in the 'yak,or even as lanyards for the fishing rods, paddles etc.
Thankyou pjsjr,I made about a dozen and gave a few away to other 'yakers and a few to some pro diver guys I know. Looking at eveled's post,I may have to send him one as I would hate for him to lose his knife down that hole.
