More fun in the sun. Picking blueberries this morning.
Beautiful, I am jealous. Thanks for the reminder, it is getting real close to that time when I need to go hit up some wild desert blackberries
@elmbow , that is a beautiful and unique sheath.
Ohai, don't drop that in the hole, you'd have to 'fish' it out...
Cool pic btw, very cool Brrr...
In search of forktails.
Please show me that you have a lanyard on that beauty!
Not in that picture I don't.
Once the linen micarta is wet,the texture becomes like fine sandpaper.
Very grippy, even if coated in fish slime, mud, blood, etc.
Even though,I sometimes have a "quick lanyard"(zip tie and light rope) attached around the choil/top finger dip area if need be.
Also,I usually have my 16 with me in the 'yak, not the 1-7,as both knives fit my "poor mans flipper" sheath.
I will be making up some lanyards over the weekend, stay tuned.
Made a couple of these up on the weekend.
Looks a bit agricultural, but does the job.
Simple, cheap, strong, easy to make and they work.
(Just like my flipper sheath)
Coil is 1/8th inch trimmer line, about 4 feet long.
They also work well for other tools in the 'yak,or even as lanyards for the fishing rods, paddles etc.
Thankyou pjsjr,I made about a dozen and gave a few away to other 'yakers and a few to some pro diver guys I know.
Looking at eveled's post,I may have to send him one as I would hate for him to lose his knife down that hole.
