Gerber knife opinions

What do I think about gerber... they have a range from junk to decent. I don’t bother with the ones not made in the USA. I’d like a vintage gator like I had previously. I’d like a intake boot knife and probably others. But I find that other knives fill the roles I have at a lesser price point than most gerbers.

I believe this is a vintage gator, it's seen better days, but decent price it's bidding at now.

Could you share with us which Gerber models you found to be such good performers? Are they old/vintage or newer models?
My Gerber evo jr has kept a edge even when I accidentally hit a metal wire with the blade! My Gerber Ripstop l has kept an edge with out being sharpened for over a month, my Gerber ez out kept an edge for 4 months, my old models I don’t use, the new models have worked well though for me!

Buck is better than gerber. that is all......
This.

However, I do own close to 100 Gerber knives, but they're all from the 1970s and 1980s and are good quality. On the other hand, I probably own over 300 Buck knives......
I've handled a few of the more recently-made USA-made Gerbers and they seem pretty decent. It comes down to what you like.

I do actually like their strongarm and auto 06, and propel.
It’s just that the Gerber evo jr knife I have took a good hit to the blade and still kept its edge!!! I accidentally struck the blade on a metal wire and the blade edge still preformed the same as it has been before the incident with the wire!!!

Same. But 90% of their stuff is trash.

I have had mostly bad experiences with them. I wrote them off for years. Finally tried a multi tool from them, and their new Sumo knife.
The multi tool I had to send back because it was shaving metal off of itself when opened and closed. Horrible grinding..

The knife's edge came so off center that I spent days trying to correct it. I finally gave up. (Not to be confused with blade centering). I'm exhausted and probably not making much sense, but I think you get the picture.

By the way man, I hail from Florida too. 👊

Goodnight all

Some Gerber Knives you just need to handle and use to actually know if it’s good, I’m a Kansas man, long ways from Florida!
