Ran across a couple of nice articles on the NATO Stabilisation Force website about the deployment of Gorkha troops in Bosnia/Herzegovina. Check out Versatile Peacekeepers and The Gurkhas. In the second article, it was mentioned that the COMSFOR, U.S. Army Lt. Gen. John Sylvester, was presented with a khukri by the troops. A quote from the article stated, The general, an avowed knife collector, wasted no time in making it a part of his uniform. "This will be a treasured part of my collection," Sylvester said. <br>
