The GST is based off the Schrade Honesteel. Instead of a coating on the steel to sharpen, the GST is heated treated/cryo treated D2 steel that is textured. You sharpen like a stone on the flats and like a butchers steel on the sides. One end is wedged for splitting wood, splitting the pelvic bone on deer and de-jointing big game.
