I just got this email from John's wife Heidi:Hi everyone,
It really feels great to be able to use exclamation points in a happy
way!
John is making steady improvements. On Friday he walked nearly 300 feet
using a walker and today was able to take five steps without assistance.
Yesterday he got yelled at for transferring to the wheelchair without
supervision, so they are keeping a closer eye on him so he doesn't
cheat.
He's coming along so well that today they cleared him to walk to the
bathroom in his room with supervision. They have set up a home visit for
next Monday 5/14 to see if we need to make any adjustments to accomodate
him, then they will release him on Tuesday or Wednesday. YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!
John's been talking almost non-stop about grilling when he gets home, so
I'm going to hold him to it! He also spent a good deal of his time
lately watching cooking shows on tv, so I'll be expecting many delicious
meals.
