Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Good morning Guardians, I am going to have to try to get out of waking up at stupid o'clock! I spent half of yesterday falling asleep, so no wonder I woke up early again! 😖 Think I'm going to read my book for a while, and contemplate my Hartshead Barlow ;) Have a good day Guardians

Jack, our youngest, Andie, a wonderful young lady of 32 with Down Syndrome, wakes up with the sunrise. That is +/- 5:30.
She makes up her bed, picks out her clothes, gathers her accouterments, which she will tote all day ~ bead necklaces, magazines, a small purse, and her water bottle (unlike her Dad, which means knives), then comes in to our room to retrieve her I-pad off the charger. Which means time to get up, Dad. Whether I'm ready or not. Time to fix breakfast.
That of course, means I am ready for bed by 8:30 pm.
Life is good, eh?

Enjoying a couple of drinks at The Snug (a cool English style pub in Midtown Sacramento - Sacto Sacto you need to check this place out!). My wife snapped a pic of her cocktail and my bourbon, and I had her take a second with the GL-24. We got pizza by the slice from Uncle Vito's next door. Good times.

Thanks for the heads up, Tyson. Looks cool. I wasn’t aware of it but I’ll definitely check it out. Might be a good destination for a bike ride 👍

Enjoying my coffee on the front patio this morning.

Great pic of your HHB. Hope Saturday is good to you 👍🤠
A very fine knife to contemplate!
Well with lack of proper sleep Jack, I would revert to using fuzzy logic all day.
Another fine example of your design.😍
Thank you very much gents 🙂
I'm not a Catholic, and I'll delete this if anyone is offended, but praying the Rosary in bed knocks me out every time.

I can remember a time, long ago, when I used to count my knives! 🙄
Don't want to get credit when it's not due. It wasn't me that gifted you the Rodgers.
Thanks Steve, I feel terrible :( Sorry Guardians 👍

That sounds like the best part of the day my friend 🙂
Good morning Guardians !

It's a beautiful sunny day here although there is an air quality warning for later as there is smoke coming down from the Canadian wildfires.

HHB today

I do worry about the health effects of you folks who have to regularly contend with smoke in the air 😐 Nice photo Steve 👍

Wonderful FC Lamb 👍

Jacks JR wood!.jpgIt was a kind gift from SteveC SteveC Charlie :) In the 70's, the Sheffield cutlers, struggling against cheap foreign imports, were looking for ways to both economise and modernise, (on the whole, they weren't good at either). These knives were made in the dying days of Joseph Rodgers as an independent company. The covers appear just to be glued on, which obviously saved on production costs.
Thanks, Jack!! That explains a lot! A few moments at the end of an independent Joseph Rodgers!!
I'm guessing this one below, rehandled by glennbad glennbad , was from JR under later management!!J Rodgers restag 1.jpgJ Rodgers restag 2.jpg

I like those HHBs. I am just packing up to head north to try keep one of those fires from burning down my cabin. My original Charlie lamb, now well patinated, will be in my pocket.

Yes Charlie, I had a brother in law who worked there at the time, and it was a depressing period to be there (as it was in Sheffield generally). When they were forced to move to the Richards factory, the Rodgers cutlers emptied trays of old blades into the River Sheaf behind the factory. That range of knives had a name, but I'm afraid I can't recall it. It was strange that they abbreviated the name on their tang stamp so much. Glenn did a lovely job of that one my friend
May you have a great day David ;)
