Good to see you Pete, and that fine Lamb :)

Some nice ebony there Dave :) ;thumbsup:
Sorry to hear work beckoned.😒
I have a bit more work this weekend too, I'm afraid 🫣
I just had all the appliances delivered and am trying to figure out all the settings. What happened to on/off?
You have my sympathy my friend, good luck! 🤞
I'm surprised you found a chip butty at all. I just did a search for chip butty in Missouri and got nothing but crickets. I've never seen one on a menu anywhere in the States.
Incredible! 🤣 I just did a search for Chicken Fried Steak in Leeds :D Surprisingly, there were a few results, but I don't trust them one bit! :D
When I was buying a new washing machine the sales people would start nattering on about wifi connections, etc. I told them my appliances did not need wifi. Who knows what mischievousness an appliance might get up to once it has internet access?
LOL! :D I think a washing machine was the last kitchen electrical appliance I bought, about 10 years ago, but I haven't read the instructions! :D
Not often I take a picture of the pile side, but it’s always nice to have a reminder of the “regular maintenance” 😁

Very nice Hoff
Looking good Steve :)
In approximately 4 hours time it is the Winter Solstice here, and a very crisp morning to start the day i might add.😂😂😂😂
Happy Solstice mate! :)

And a lamb pic from a little while ago when I was outside 🐑

That's a nice one Mike :)
Sweet Violet :) Long winter shadows Mitch
Well now that Bob took the bait & asked what a Bruno is😆 I better explain.

This was a genuine lunch item at my high school canteen your cafeteria.
You take 1 long white bread roll cut it open slather it with butter.
I know what your thinking hot dog, sausage? Well you'd be wrong.
You get 1 full size sausage roll and you put it on that bread roll pastry and all, then coat with tomato or barbecue sauce and there you have 1 Bruno, don't know why it was called that.
😒 tasted good but.
Don't think it would pass healthy lunch options these days. More a toolman snack
LOL! :D Tool Man would definitely give that a try Mitch! :D

A walking stick with my EDC of late!!

A genuine Blackthorn with Beech handle, made by my friend Barry!! gunstockjack gunstockjack !!
Thanks again, Barry!!
That's some nice work there Charlie :) Well done Barry :)

I haven't made a stick in 2 or 3 years, and worry that I'll have lost the skills and knowledge
   And bread rolls buttered with potato cakes as the filling.:eek::eek:
Did you also call them Brunos Leon? I remember when some fish and chip shops here used to list a fish cake sandwich, I don't know if they still do

Good morning Guardians, and Happy Solstice. So far, it's lovely weather here, but I'm not yet sure how much of it I'm going to see of it. I have a work meeting at some point, and I may end up with more work as a result. I did manage to catch up with Wolfie yesterday, and we took his daft dog for a walk in the park, but I think he is working today too. Matt has had some kind of lurgy, and is not yet fully recovered. I might be having a quiet weekend, which wouldn't be a bad thing really ;) I have my trusty Hartshead Barlow in my pocket :) Have a great weekend Guardians

Recycled pic (rather than my breakfast)! :D

I have a walnut growing between the planks of my deck that will become a stick this year. It's a handful where it becomes round above the planks, and I presume it has a reverse taper below the planks. I haven't decided whether I'll just cut it after the sap falls, or try to bend it at a right angle before the sap falls, and see if it forms a handle. I think science demands the latter.

The heat advisory starts at noon and ends tomorrow evening, unless they change their minds and lengthen it again. Half a gallon of water will still be enough for a four hour shift. It would be silly to give myself heat exhaustion by carrying extra water.

Stay cool Jer. We have a heat warning as well, it's already 82° at 6am. The heat index for later is 110° 🥵

Interesting idea to preform the cane.
Stay cool Jer.

Thanks Jack.
You have a good day.

I used to grind my beans, but in the past couple of years I've gone back to mainly drinking coffee when I'm out, which meant I was throwing away beans. I finally surrendered and bought a Lavazza pod machine at Xmas, but I'm underwhelmed by the coffee. I start my day with a mug of Yorkshire tea, with milk, and then usually I'll get coffee at Charlie's Cafe down the road, and then maybe a second cup in town. Then I'll probably have another cup of tea at home later. Some days, I don't drink coffee, and don't really notice any side-effects, and I have given it up completely in the past. A good coffee is a treat for me, and enjoy having it in the nearby cafe, where the coffee is always excellent

I enjoy coffee, but only drink it occasionally. It’s just never been one of those have-to-have-it things for me.

Finally, some good southern fried chicken. These had a hint of spicy heat.

Looks great, Bob! 😋

When I was buying a new washing machine the sales people would start nattering on about wifi connections, etc. I told them my appliances did not need wifi. Who knows what mischievousness an appliance might get up to once it has internet access?

I’m all for modern, convenient technology, but I’ve never understood why I would need a washer/dryer or fridge that connects to the internet.

Incredible! 🤣 I just did a search for Chicken Fried Steak in Leeds :D Surprisingly, there were a few results, but I don't trust them one bit! :D

I don’t even trust chicken fried steak when I see it on a menu in Minnesota. 🤣

We’re back home in Arkansas right now, visiting family and friends. I’ve had my GL-24 with me the last couple days, but I’ve got a couple different lambs with me so I’ll try to change it up while we’re here.
