I did pick up a 20 slide from eBay but had to send it back. The rear sight cut was bad. When I was installing the rear sight, it started climbing out of the slot. I was installing the sights that were on the original slide so I know it was not the sight. Seller was great about it. Full refund plus shipping.Just make sure they are the same gen... those are gen4. Feel free to pick up a complete bare slide shipped to your door or a stripped one and build it. Works great. Gunbroker is a great place to find them. Even EBAY.
I've got a pretty sweet shotgun set up but I'm not sure if the wife could stand a 12 gauge's recoil. My dedicated home defense set up is a shotgun of some flavor!
Let her shoot it more often. Secret is to always keep it pulled into your shoulder. I like to load mine with 7.5 birdshot and sneak a 3” goose load in there and hand it to my wife. Makes for some funny reactions. She’s become aware of my shenanigans and loads the gun herself now.I've got a pretty sweet shotgun set up but I'm not sure if the wife could stand a 12 gauge's recoil.
Depends how many I am shooting... I have 2-pistols cases and long gun cases that hold two rifles and six pistols and rolling backpacks that hold four pistols and all the gear+ammo, or "gym bags" that hold break down or short rifles and pistols, etc... you have to pick what works for you and your range. I used to always just fill the trunk with a dozen cases and a separate bag and cans for ammo, but you can't always back the car or truck up to the firing line. Depends on you and where you shoot.

Brave or something else? The only time my wife has pulled the trigger on a long gun, the slide ripped of the artificial nails that were just applied and pulled a couple real nails out of the nail bed. From that however, she shot my 41mag without issue.Let her shoot it more often. Secret is to always keep it pulled into your shoulder. My wife has shot skeet/trap with me before, so 12ga recoil doesn’t really affect her.ShockBrave or something else? I’m still trying to picture how a slide on a long gun can rip fingernails off.![]()

I just told my wife to keep it tight into the shoulder, cheek on the comb, and let your whole body absorb the recoil. But she’s a brute for a little thing, and not much discourages her lol. She’s always trying to outdo me in everything that I do.That was my plan for us. I thought it would be a fun activity we could do together on the weekends. Bought her a pump 20 and low brass rocked her a bit more than she liked. She just doesn't like shooting enough to be ok with some recoil. Part of it is her fault because she won't hold the gun like I tell her so, she's sensitive to recoil and it's kicking her harder than it has too.
I will try to correct it and she will reply with frustration "I am holding it tight."
Makes sense now. Pistol grip on a 12 gauge with buckshot is gonna be a little harder to control, even for some men.Mine has not shot long guns before or after that day.
Pistol grip, pump 20 gauge, nails on above slide top. Recoiled up harder than she expected.
I showed her how to grab it and even shot a couple rounds but it did not work for her.
It was gone that afternoon in favor of a security six
