I notice that hairstylists have their own kind of scissors. In fact, they have their own "holsters" for their scissors.

In what way are their scissors different from the kind of scissors that ordinary folk use?

I was told that hairstylists are very particular about their own scissors. Nobody can use them and their scissors are strictly used for trimming and cutting hair and nothing else.

Is it some kind of superstitution or hairstylists' code?

Hair is hard to cut well. It takes great edges not to cause split ends and other problems.

I have two great friends who do hair. One does people the other does animals. Both have shears that only do hair. Our groomer friend spent $600 for one pair of hers.

If you think that Knife Knuts spend lots on blades. Most people that cut hair spend outrageous amounts for mass produced shears.
