Heat Treat Oven - WIP

Best place to buy it it straight from the manufacture. And yes SSR is what you want.

Do you have a part # on that breaker? And correct me if I'm wrong but the transformer drops voltage from 240v to 24v? Thx

I apologize for bringing this back to the top, but I couldn’t find where you said exactly what kind of rods you used to put the coils over? I’m thinking hard about making a similar oven and don’t want to get ones that won’t be able to handle stainless temps. Thanks for any help you can provide.

I used fused quartz for mine, but it has a max recommended temp of about 2000F, so if I plan on doing a lot of stainless, I’ll probably upgrade to mullite or alumina ceramic rods.

Let me dig up my source. He is on eBay and will cut them you any length you want. I found this out when I asked him if he could get me rods 16” long. The long rods arrived in perfect condition and quite cheep.

Thanks for the info, guys. If I can get rods that’ll work for the highest temps I’d be going the first time, that would be great.
