Hogue knives

I have a mini and a full sized RSK. Great knives, solid bang for the buck. Haven't had to use their warranty, but heard good things about that as well. The clip is the weakest part, but on the RSK's they use a standard 3 hole clip so replacing that is extremely easy to do.

Just picked up a Sig K320 by Hogue, the one with aluminum handles and G10 inserts. F&F is a little better than my Griptillians, is slightly larger so it feels better in my hand and is better balanced than the Grip. I like the feel of the metal handles and the G10 is more grippy than the handles on the Griptillian. Very nice knife IMHO.

I just bought a Hogue Doug Ritter RSK Mk1-G2, black sales. I was hesitant because I have the Sig Sauer K320 and a Hogue made Wilson Combat knife. Neither were that impressive to me. Okay but not great. But after watching many reviews on the Doug Ritter RSK ..., I decided to purchase one. I and glad I did. I like the blade shape, the G10 scales, the T8 screws and the "silver" pocket clip. If I were to build a knife from parts, it would have what the Doug Ritter RSK uses.

I think Hogue knives are a bit underrated. The only complaint I have about them is the design of some of the pocket clips--I wish they were more like Spyderco or Benchmade spring clips.

The spoon clip and HK clips are certainly something haha. I personally like to think it gives the knife some character, but in my experience the spoon clip can be somewhat of a hotspot.

Yeah the stock clip that came with both of my Ritters from Hogue could use improvement. The good news is that they are running off of the same pattern as BM clips so I was able to get a replacement easily from Lynch NW

I recently purchased a Deka in CPM Magnacut. Have to admit I got it for the steel. The model I got has the polymer scales and they are a bit squishy. Other than that I think it's a great knife. Light weight and good action. The ff seems pretty good too. And a great price for a magnacut blade.

It probably depends on Doug and Knifeworks, but Doug at least seems like the kind of guy who would be on board with that sort of thing.

Just saw the pre-order for the Hogue Ritter Magnacut Carbon Fiber scales RSK.

I recently got the polymer handle deka and love it. Much smoother than my bugout. The magnacut blade is serving me well so far.
I got an amazing deal on the Magnacut version at SMKW, did a scale swap for some blue Blade Scales, and good lord I love this knife. 75BCB945-0116-4F01-AD96-CDCAA7B5FC6A.jpeg1ED6289C-1334-4BE5-B14C-F75A02840331.jpegIt cuts anything and everything effortlessly! It just wants to cut. Really pleased so far!

Wow, that looks amazing with those scales. I looked for aftermarket scales when I first got the Deka and couldn't find any. Thanks for sharing. I had given up on looking. Now I know what I'll be ordering next payday.

Currently sold out of all colors except jade. :(

I have a Ballista auto. It's very well made, good action and 154cm steel. Only real negative is that the blade doesn't come very sharp from the factory.

I just got a Hogue Ritter RSK and I can tell you this. If the standard Griptilian was this good and felt this solid I would have got one a long time ago. I love Benchmade knives. It's my favorite brand really but they do themselves no favors by using grivory over G10. The plastic feel turns me and a lot of people off.

The Hogue Ritter was also, hands down, the sharpest blade I have ever bought right out of the box. More so than any Spyderco, Benchmade, Emerson and even ZT that I own. Not sure how they do this but it was scary how sharp it came.

Based on this experience with Hogue I would not hesitate to buy more.

Looking for a replacement pocket clip for my Hogue EX 1. Could somebody help me out with this, please?

You want to buy a gun that has been used in a crime??? -I’m afraid of life
Most likely those guns weren’t used in a crime, even if one of the rifles were used to assassinate Arch Duke Ferdinand, it would not make the gun “tainted”, it was the shooter, not the tool that did the deed.

Destroying a valuable tool to make the inept feel more secure, even if an illusion, is not something I can condone.

Now back to topic, Hogue makes excellent knives, terrific machining, quality materials, some of the finest edges on a production knife, I’m not a big Elishewitz fan, I personally find most of his designs “funky”, but he has some that are winners in my book.
I am glad Hogue exists and personally don’t mind them giving benchmade some competition, I used it to be a fan of benchmade, but over the years they have interested me less and less, Hogue however has my eye.

I like how you are so determined to get “back to topic” after you have had your say and after you have mis-quoted me.

Factory or aftermarket clip?

You can get factory clips alot of places, directly from Hogue, DLT, BHQ, lot of other sites...

Not sure about aftermarket, I know I've seen some on Etsy..
